FEG led HEA baselines and current year outcome analysis in five livelihood zones in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia for Wahana Visi Indonesia (World Vision Indonesia), Plan International, Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik (Save the Children Indonesia) and Yayasan Fondasi Hidup (Food for the Hungry Indonesia). The purpose was to provide a detailed understanding of the livelihood characteristics, seasonal calendars, income and expenditure patterns, food sources, and coping mechanisms of different wealth groups in each livelihood zone, from which post-earthquake livelihood recovery strategies could be developed. The earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction that occurred on 28 September 2018 caused deep trauma and destruction in Palu City and surrounding areas. The earthquake severely affected the fishing and agriculture sectors, and damaged key market infrastructure and income generating assets.
