HEA and Urban Economies

The practitioners in FEG have successfully piloted new approaches to urban assessments in Zimbabwe, Djibouti, Somaliland, Angola, Palestine, Kenya, Serbia and Kosovo.

These assessments have led to an increased understanding of the burgeoning urban population in these areas, and especially the conditions in the poorest areas and shanty towns.

In addition, through its work with FEWS NET, FEG has established innovative systems for the on-going monitoring of urban livelihoods.
